Our plans of getting a Christmas tree last weekend quickly changed when Sean came down with strep throat. Fortunately, we did make it this weekend. We went out on Saturday night when the temperature was only about 12 degrees. I actually chose the first tree we looked at. Now, this can be considered a small miracle as I have a reputation for being indecisive and taking a very long time in choosing a tree. Kevin was thrilled and he learned an important lesson: take me out to get a tree when it is extremely cold! Here is a blurry photo of us by our tree.
Our tree is not decorated yet, but that is okay as we spent Sunday playing in the snow and decorating Christmas cookies with our neighbors. This was Luke's first time playing in the snow. He loved it! He spent lots of time just lying in the snow as well as laughing at this new experience.
Sean would stay out for hours if allowed and his favorite thing to do is shovel! Now somehow I am guessing that when he is sixteen and I ask him to shovel the driveway I won't be met with the same enthusiasm. I guess I'll take it while I can!

SOooooooo jealous of those snow pics!! The a/c is still going though it has been a touch cooler...

My kids love playing in the snow + shoveling too.
And I agree, when they are old enough to help shovel, they won't want too :)
