I am really not scrapbooking anymore, though I still find ways to play with paper via making tags for gifts and various cards. I do miss scrapbooking though...I especially miss it when I see the pages that I have done for the two older boys and I really have practically none for Jackson (though I have more photos). So, from time to time, I hope to do a digital page here and there. I love all of the products Liz offers via Paislee Press. She is currently rearranging her blog and all of her free downloads are front and center in her post for today. That was the impetus I needed to take the plunge and do a quick page.
Enjoy checking out Liz's site. She offers tremendous tutorials and freebies and she is super kind as well!
I sincerely apologize for the delay in getting this posted and I'm sorry for the visitors from Kristi's blog that came here to find the prompt for next week. Mr. Jackson decided that it wasn't necessary to take a nap yesterday and we had hockey all day today, so it has been crazy around here.
Thanks to Kristi for coming through and coming up with next week's prompt. It is going to be a great one...can't wait to see what you all photograph!
I loved Kristi's prompt for this week. My mind was swirling with ideas and I decided to do something that I have been wanting to do for a while...I created a mini mood board of things I made and things that inspire me. I have wanted to make a paper garland for a long time so I used some of my favorite patterned papers and made one. I played with fonts and a favorite quote and made a little quote card and I decorated a tag with a recent photo of Luke. It felt so good to play with paper again and to use my sewing machine for paper crafts. I am really enjoying this weekly challenge with Kristi...it forces me to do things I wouldn't otherwise do!
Kristi's button image is so beautiful. I love how the buttons are arranged by color...it is so soothing and gentle. I think every craft room needs this image in it! Kristi, you are so talented! We cannot wait to see what you came up with for this prompt. Please share in the comments section.

Here is one of my favorite quotes about creating that I find truly inspiring...
"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.
Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty.
You may think you don’t have talents, but that is a false assumption, for we all have talents and gifts, every one of us. The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before—colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter.”
~Dieter F. Uchtdorf
You could take a picture of the area where you: sew, garden,
scrapbook, craft, cook, dance, sing, draw, write, etc.
a picture of the instruments or tools you use to create
a picture of something you'd like to create
I hope this has got you thinking!
Let's go create something...
Sorry for the delay in getting this prompt posted; it has been quite a hectic weekend! I just love this prompt that Kristi chose! I can't wait to see how you interpret, 'create'!
Kristi and I hope you had fun photographing 'food' this week if you had a chance to participate. Apparently, Kristi and I were thinking alike because we both photographed desserts. There is just something universally appealing about dessert.
Here is our diptych:
Kristi: left me: right
Those cupcakes in Kristi's image look amazing. I don't even like maraschino cherries, but I love it on this cupcake and I know I would eat it too...if given the opportunity. As for my image, the bite taken out of the cream puff...yep, that was me and it was delish!
Let us know in the comments if you took a food image. We'd love to see it!
I wish there were more hours in the day. I know I am not alone in feeling that way. I always have so many things I want to share with all of you and the days just fly by it seems. However, I thought today I would take some time to share some things that you might be interested in.
I don't think I have shared here that I do have a website and blog devoted to my photography business. If you are interested in checking it out, here you go.
I came across this new design magazine that is coming out and it is going to be in print! Yay! Woohoo! I subscribed yesterday after checking out the sneak peek. It looks fabulous and I feel an obligation to support people pursuing their dreams and making art.
I think these unique baby books are just wonderful. I am definitely going to be purchasing one.
