As much as I would love to join Ali and make a December daily scrapbook, I just don't have the time to devote to it. However, I do love capturing the Christmas season with a photo-a-day as I have done in year'spast. This year I have decided to simply take a photo each day and add any text as I feel is necessary. After the holidays, I will have the photos made into a book most likely using Blurb.
Today, Elfis returned to our home, hiding on the mantle with a little sign for the kids.
I do find it a bit difficult to go back to my December daily after Christmas is over. The last few days before Christmas seem to be such a flurry of activity that I only have time to snap my photos. Hence, I must go back and finish after the celebrating is done. I got a few more done today and wanted to post them here on my blog. I just have to do a montage from Christmas morning and all will be done...just need to send them off to be printed.
I remember just how much I love doing this December Daily album. It is such a beautiful time of the year to have one's camera close at hand to capture all of the special moments that life has to offer.
I decided to change my format for my December daily. I purchased Ali'sDecember overlays and have been using this to create my pages. As I mentioned, I am not forcing myself to take a photo each day...this is a no-stress, whatever-i-get kind of project. I think I like it this way...no expectations! Anyway, here are the last few days that I have recorded.
Although I didn't create a December daily album for this year, I am still going to try to take as many photos as possible to document this season and how we celebrate it as a family. I read something on the internet this week where the author stated that rather than give up because we miss a few days of taking photos, in the future we will be happier for the days that we did take photos. I couldn't agree more. I am already behind as I didn't take a photo yesterday, but I'm okay with that. I am going to put all of these 4x6 photos in a little album after the holidays.
We were so happy to see that our elf, 'Elfis' arrived at midnight on December 1st. He strategically hid himself amongst some greenery in our front foyer. He has his work cut out for him this year with three boys to watch over and report on to Santa! ;)
