I took an unexpected hiatus from my art journal. The unexpected hiatus is called life...I'm sure you are all familiar with how it gets in the way sometimes. I realize now that rather than try to play catch-up, I am just going to pick and choose from the amazing prompts given by Elise. My children will never know that I am supposed to have 52 entries in this journal. I think they will just enjoy seeing the journey of growth I am on this year.
This entry that I did is very simple, but I wanted to incorporate this mosaic since I created it when I was searching for spring. Where I live, spring is always late in arriving and we all get a little itchy at the end of March and beginning of April. So this entry is my 'ode to spring' whether or not is in my backyard.
Here is the two-page spread:
The mosaic:
My journaling: I think you can read it in the photo if you click on it to make it larger.
And a detail shot:
Happy spring...we had a taste of it for the past few days, but not today.
I have a quick question for any of you that use Typepad. Even though I am updating my 365 + 1 photo album, the thumbnail photo is stuck on that daisy image. Any thoughts as to why this is happening? I emailed Typepad, but haven't heard back. I just find it annoying. I need to update the art journal album as well. Thanks for any help!
I love this entry Melissa!
And the typepad thing....the only help I can give is that I've had strange issues happen and email them....but it takes them a while to fix it. Not the same issue but other stuff.
Good luck :)

Hey Melissa, I think I can help with the typepad issue. Go into your photo album, then click on the Configure tab. About halfway down, you'll see a checkbox that says "use a cover image/photo". Check the box then click "choose file" You will then be able to choose your cover image (just be sure to save the changes). In my experience, it often takes some time (30 minutes or so) for those types of changes to take affect. Let me know if that helps!!

I love the Spring mosaic, the pretty flower and the way you typeset the journaling. Thank you for sharing it all. And would you mind if I asked how you put together the mosaics - in Picasa? in Photoshop? They are so well done. Thanks.

if the other suggestion doesn't help, it may have to do with the date the photo was taken...i think typepad lists the photos in the order it was taken...you know more than me tho...
