An overheard conversation with God...

He's growing up...

This was a conversation earlier this week between myself and Sean.

Sean: "Mom, do you wear Cover Girl?"

Me: "Yes, I do. Why? Did you see it on a commercial?"

Sean: "Yeah.  That blond girl is really pretty."

*I tried to figure out which blond he was referring to and found a Cover Girl ad in a magazine featuring Drew Barrymore and that was the girl!  He's got good taste, I'll give him that.  Sigh...  But, I don't want him to grow up anymore!

He Said No. 6

Yesterday, I had to take Sean to the dentist so we dropped Luke off at school first.  On the way to the dentist's office, I looked in the rearview mirror at Sean and he was looking at me too and he said, "It's just like old times, Mom.  Just me and you."  I almost cried right then and there.  I love that he remembers our special times together.  I remember and cherish them too.

He Said No. 5

Sean and my husband, Kevin, had this little conversation this morning:

Sean: I don't want to ride the bus to school in the morning.

Kevin: Oh, you'll be fine.  You rode the bus home every day from early kindergarten last year.

Sean: Yeah, but when I ride the bus home from school, it is to see Mommy; but in the morning, I'm leaving Mommy.

Oh, be still my heart.  I love him so much.  I am having such a hard time thinking about tomorrow...his first official day of kindergarten.  Sigh...

Columbus Day!

In honor of Columbus Day, I thought it would be fitting to share this story that Sean's teacher shared with me.  In order to prepare for today's holiday, Sean's teacher asked the students if anyone knew who Christopher Columbus was and Sean eagerly raised his hand.  When called upon, he said that Columbus was 'Pooh Bear's friend.'  It took me a moment and then I realized that Sean was thinking of Christopher Robin.  We have been chuckling about this over the past few days.  Out of the mouths of babes...

He Said No. 3

For some reason, I thought I had recorded more of the 'funny-&-I-don't-want-to-forget' things Sean has said.  Alas, I have not so I am going to do my best to be better about this.

Here is just a quick thing Sean said to me yesterday:

As I was puttering around in the morning...cleaning up after breakfast...chasing Luke around so he didn't destroy/mess up more in his path, I jokingly said,

'Sean, I need a nanny and I need a cleaning lady.'

To which Sean replied,

'Mom, you need a fairy godmother.'

Yep, I need one of those too! ;)

I just love him...he can always make me smile.
